Stravinsky: L’histoire du Soldat

Museum Voorlinden
17:30 doors open | 18:00 start program
Dress code: Festive

Prior to the concert you can enjoy an exclusive tour of the museum (included in the entrance fee). You will be welcomed with a glass of champagne.

Museum Voorlinden is the beautiful location where on Friday, June 1st the concert “L’Histoire du Soldat” (1918) by Igor Stravinsky is performed: a musical parable about a soldier exchanging his violin for money; a theme that is still topical 100 years later.

A very special element that is added on this memorable evening is the simultaneous display of the Emmy award winning cartoon by R. Blechman (1930), which is based on the “Soldier’s tale”. Mr Blechman, whose retrospective film was even devoted to a retrospective by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, has given his special assistance to the ICMF.

This evening will also mark the beginning of an annual collaboration between the ICMF Wassenaar and Camerata RCO, the chamber ensemble of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

The end time of the program is approximately 21.30h. After the concert you will be offered some bites and drinks. There will be no break between the museum tour and the concert.
