Cellist Jérôme Fruchart started his studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris with Marcel Bardon. From 1999 to 2003 he studied with Jean-Marie Gamard and Jean Mouillère at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. During his studies, he participated in an Erasmus exchange and studied for a year with Valentin Erben at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. In 2004 he continued his education with Arto Noras at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

Since 2004 he has been a member of the French chamber orchestra Les Dissonances, that plays without a conductor. In 2007, he played a season in the Sinfonieorchester Basel and from 2008 to 2010 he was a tutti cellist with the Opéra National de Paris.

Jérôme joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2010. He is also a regularly substitute in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and in the Berliner Philharmoniker. In addition, he has been contributing to the creation of a new festival orchestra in Évian, La Sinfonia Grange au Lac since 2018. In the summer of 2019, he is a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. Jérôme also regularly performs in various chamber music formations.

In 2012, a cello by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume from 1866 was purchased for Jérôme Fruchart by the RCO Foundation and loaned to him.
